I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas and spent lots of time with family and taking a break from work life. I know I have 😊
So, I wanted to do a wrap up of my 2018 goals, see what I achieved and see what I could do with carrying forward into my 2019 goals. So, without further ado, let’s get into it.
Have 7,000 followers on Twitter – I didn’t quite hit this goal, I was 100 followers away. (At the time of writing this which is 1pm on NYE).
Have 2,000 followers on Instagram – I reached this goal and then flew past it, I even made a secondary goal to reach 2,700 followers for the end of the year. Which I also reached, ending the year on 2,728 followers.
Have 150 followers on Facebook – again, I reached this goal. I have 204 followers on Facebook which is amazing!
Have 400 followers on my blog – I finished the year with 467 followers.
Have 500 followers on Pinterest – I finished the year with 750 followers and 7,500 views a month.
Another goal I had was to think about starting a YouTube channel. What content I would do, etc. As it turns out, I thought about it and I set one up. I have 75 followers on YouTube and I’m so proud of myself for setting my channel up. As someone who is normally shy in front of the camera and doesn’t even like talking on the phone, this is a huge step for me and has been a great confidence boost.
Work & Life
One of my goals for the year was to lose some weight and treat my body better. I massively failed with this goal and despite the fact I don’t feel too great in my own skin now, it’s okay. My head hasn’t been in the right frame of mind for weight loss, so I haven’t been pushing it, however, I am wanting to sort myself out for the year of 2019, so I do have a couple of goals to add to my list for this.
I also had a goal to start yoga. Which I did, then stopped but started back up again. I’m absolutely loving it. My biggest challenge at the moment is actually going to my classes. I keep forgetting and oversleeping (especially on the weekend) but I think once I’m in a routine, I should be okay.
As far as work is concerned, my goals this year were to get a new job, to start my APC and to become ACABE (a professional qualification). I managed to get a new job, which I am loving. I became ACABE which is great. And although my APC hasn’t officially started, I have been researching it and starting to record my own training as and when required.
I only started getting back into reading in August this year, which is around the time I hit a little bit of a life slump. I’ve missed reading massively and it has now become such a huge part of my life. I don’t know what I ever did with my spare time before it.
The goal I set myself on Goodreads this year was 20 books. I set this goal in August thinking “I only have a couple of months left, let’s not go crazy”. However, I finished the year on 101 books and honestly, I’m amazed and blown away. I’ve read so many fantastic books and I’ve adored getting back into reading.
So, those were my 2018 goals. Let’s look at my 2019 goals.
- To reach 10,000 followers on Twitter
- To reach 4,000 followers on Instagram
- To reach 750 followers on my blog
- To have 10,000 views a month on Pinterest (I really love Pinterest)
- To reach 250 followers on YouTube (I don’t want to be too ambitious)
- To post at least once a week on my YouTube channel AND on my blog
- To spend more time reading other bloggers posts and leaving comments, etc.
- To have officially started my APC
- To smash my 30 Things Before 30 bucket list
- To lose 30lbs
- To read 100 books
- To smash my Bookopoly (savings) reading game
- To smash my 30 For 30 Readathon
- To help my parents fall back in love with reading
- To save more money
- To not buy so many books (can’t make any promises on this one ha)
So, there you have it. My 2018 wrap up and 2019 goals.
