Welcome to another monthly favourite’s post. I know these are enjoyed and lots has happened in the month of Jan so I thought why not share. So, without further ado, lets get into it.
So, I have mentioned this on Instagram (which I subsequently accidentally deleted – my whole Instagram, not just the post), but I wanted to mention it on here as well as this is the second thing that has absolutely made my January.
I have been offered (and have accepted) an opportunity with an author, of whom I fell in love with his work last year. You are now reading a blog post from Simon Neilson’s new editor! I know right, I’M AN EDITOR! I’m so excited.
I read Simon’s novel, Rouge Evacuation, last year and I bloody loved it. I did a review of it which I will link HERE, you should absolutely check it out.
Simon has several new books coming out this year and as a reader, I’m so bloody excited about them. Whilst having a catch up with Simon about his new ventures and life, he mentioned that if I may be interested in giving editing a go, he’d love to have me on the team. And now here I am. Simon Neilson’s new editor. (I cannot confirm how many more times I am going to say this, I am not sorry).
I adore reading. I have recently gotten into annotating (tabbing) my books and I feel like this is the next step for me with reading and annotating. I am so lucky to have had this opportunity offered to me, and I cannot wait to dive in. Working with Simon is going to be an absolute pleasure, as an author and as a person.
I just wanted to say thank you to each and everyone of you that have supported me on my blogging journey so far. Without your support and love, there’s no way I’d have this opportunity. So, thank you all. You’re amazing and I adore each one of you!

I went to Portpatrick for four days with my family (initially with my brother and sister-in-law then my parents and Denver joined us a couple of days later).
We had a wonderful time. We went into Portpatrick a couple of times, we visited Wigtown as well. I wanted to visit The Bookshop which is Shaun Bythell’s store (his book was one of my 5/5 star reads this month).
The weather was beautiful, albeit cold, however, coming home on Wednesday, we saw lots and lots of snow which did delay our journey a little bit. The upside – I got lots of photos to show you. I hope you enjoy these below 🙂
