I received an ARC of this book from Orion Publishing, thank you for sending me this.
The rules are simple: choose the most significant moments from your relationship – one for each hour in the day.
You’d probably pick when you first met, right?
And the instant you knew for sure it was love?
Maybe even the time you watched the sunrise after your first night together?
But what about the car journey on the holiday where everything started to go wrong? Or your first proper fight?
Or that time you lied about where you’d been?
It’s a once in a lifetime chance to learn the truth.
But if you had to be completely honest with the one you love, would you still play?
For Esme and Tom, the game is about to begin. But once they start, there’s no going back . . .
Esme loves to play games, and for their 10th anniversary, she has come up with a game for her and Tom to play. Choose the most significant moments from your relationship – one for each hour in the day.
The story follows Esme and Tom’s relationship. Through 10 years of ups and downs, lies and secrets, how will this game end for them both?
I was really intrigued by the premise of this book. My suspicions of where this story was going weren’t correct and I was really surprised by the events that unfold and how the story ends.
Jamie’s writing is fantastic. The chapters were quite short and with each event told, you just wanted more of Esme and Tom’s story. I will definitely keep my eyes open for Jamie’s books in future.
Our Life in a Day deals with depression and suicide, which again, is very well written, but do take note if these are triggers for you.
I really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it. I gave Our Life in a Day 4.5/5 stars.
