[AD – Gifted] How many of you have just now remembered that Father’s Day is coming up? How many of you are stuck for ideas?
Well, luckily for you lot, I have something fairly original for you. When Bradley from The Personal Barber reached out to me and asked me did I want to review their Shaving Subscription, I thought for a second I was Mel Gibson in What Women Want and I was in fact a man and someone had figured it out before me. Turns out, Bradley is giving me the opportunity to be Taraji P. Henson and figure out What Men Want! (huh, see what I did there?!)
Any-who. After giving it some thought, I realised that it would be nice to do a Father’s Day gift idea post. I always struggle with what to get my dad on Father’s Day (and his birthday and Christmas) and so, when I looked at The Personal Barber’s subscription box, I realised that this was a nice and original idea as a gift for men. So, without further ado, let’s get into the unboxing.
To start off with, the subscription box comes well packaged so as not to break anything inside. This box was sealed inside a mailing bag and was left by my postie in a safe place. The box has a simple but effective design with the company name and logo on the top and the quote “Purveyors of Handsome Living” on the side with the website.
When you open the box, there are two cards laid out on top. One tells you What’s In The Box? on one side with The Personal Barber Perfect Shave on the back. The other card tells you The Personal Barber Wet Shaving Box with a Caring For Your Items section on the back. This second card will only come in the first subscription box.
So, What’s Inside The Box?
First thing I noticed was The Personal Barber Double Edged Safety Razor. I have to be honest; this is a stunning looking razor. It has some weight to it and the top of the razor is personalised with “The Personal Barber” which is a nice touch. You do not get one of these in every box, only in your first.
Next there was a Clubman Pinaud Shave Soap. Clubman Pinaud are a brand with a history that goes all the way back to 1810. This soap doesn’t smell too strong, but the subtle scent it does have is a rather nice one.
You can use this shave soap with your The Personal Barber Synthetic Hair Shaving Brush (again, you will only receive this in your first box) by swirling the slightly damp brush on the soap for a few seconds, and then build up your lather in your hand or a bowl as normal. This brush looks beautiful and has The Personal Barber logo on the handle. It looks very classy and the high-quality hairs feel very soft and nice to touch.
You will also receive a Man Polish Everyday Face Moisturiser For Men. Man Polish are a new male grooming brand from Manchester, so a local business for me, always like to support local businesses. This product is not tested on animals.
And finally, you have Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub which is a skin care brand in Australia. Sukin’s entire range is naturally derived, cruelty free, vegan and carbon neutral, which is brilliant.
I think overall, this box is perfect for those of you who shave your face regularly and like to look after your skin. Not only would this be perfect for your old man for Father’s Day, but it can be perfect for birthday’s and Christmas too!
I hope you have enjoyed this post. I shall keep you all posted on whether my dad appreciated the box for Father’s Day, which I’m sure he will. If you’re interested in purchasing you dad (or someone else in your life) one of these boxes, please see all The Personal Barber links down below.
