Welcome to a special post, this week in which I am interviewing my brother… regarding horror movies! I watch the odd horror movie, but mostly, I try to avoid them wherever possible. However, Matt – my brother – absolutely loves horror movies; so, I thought Halloween would be a perfect time to do a post like this. I hope you all enjoy it… I know Matt and I did! 😀

Matt is a 27-year-old structural engineer, living in Bolton with his wife (Tara). He is obsessed with cars… especially his own! He also enjoys movies, sports, TV shows, and music.

Matt is my best friend and one of my favourite humans in the world; so, this post will be so much fun! 🙂

What is your favourite movie genre?

M – Probably horror. I enjoy action and comedy, as well.

What is it that you enjoy about horror films?

M – I like feeling scared. It gets my adrenaline going.

What is your favourite horror film?

M – I don’t really know, to be honest. Probably Insidious or The Conjuring. Darkness Falls is a good one, as well… in fact, that probably is my favourite.

S – Why?

M – It’s my favourite because… erm… I don’t know… it kept me entertained, all the way through, and I liked its uniqueness.

Darkness Falls (2003) – synopsis

A vengeful spirit has taken the form of the Tooth Fairy to exact vengeance on the town that lynched her, 150 years earlier. Her only opposition is the only child, now grown up, who has survived her, before.

What is the worst horror film you’ve ever seen?

M – Oh; that’s a tricky question. Let me have a look… Okay… Ibiza Undead – it was fucking terrible!

S – What was terrible about it?

M – The whole thing… the acting, the storyline… it was shit!

What are your top 5 recommended horror films, and why?

M – Okay…erm…in no particular order…

Paranormal Activity – because it’s quite realistic, and it made you (Steph) cry! I’d give it a 4/5 rating.

Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse – it’s surprisingly funny and entertaining. I really enjoyed this film. I’d give it a 4/5 rating.

The Conjuring – because it’s very frightening and it scared the shit out of me! I’d give it a 5/5 rating.

I Know What You Did Last Summer – it was one of the first horror films I ever saw, and it never gets old. I can watch it, over and over because of the brilliant storyline. I’d give it a 4/5 rating.

My final film would be It because it’s a classic horror film that never ages. Also, you (Steph) are scared of clowns; so, that also made it (It) funny! I’d give it a 4/5 rating.

What are in YOUR top 5, Steph?

S – Oh, crikey, I don’t even know if I’ve watched 5 horror movies! Haha! Okay… erm… my favourite would have to be Halloween (2007); I’ve watched this film, repeatedly. I intend to watch the original movie from 1978, though… especially since the new one has just come out.

The Exorcist (1973) would be my second favourite horror flick, I think. Again, I’ve seen this film, repeatedly. It freaks me out, every single time, but I still love it.

House Of Wax (2005)… I really enjoyed this film. I love Chad Michael Murray, and I’m not a fan of Paris Hilton; so, this film is a win for me. However, the Achilles heel bit freaked me out!

I’d agree with you, Matt on I Know What You Did Last Summer… I did enjoy that film.

I can’t even think of a fifth film, to be honest! I think that four is probably my limit for now.
